1.  Make sure drains have anti-entrapment covers and are compliant with federal and local requirements.

2.  Before allowing your child to swim in a pool, ask if the pool has anti-entrapment covers and an emergency shut-off.​

3.  Children have been caught in the suction of drains and killed by extreme force.
